This portrait was taken by German photographer Markus Mauthe on a recent trip to Namibia.
Mauthe works together with Greenpeace to document nature and you can find his work online just by typing in his name. Although the text is in German, there are some stunning shots of landscapes and wildlife.
Mauthe came to Namibia to discover people living in harmony with their surroundings. He had heard about the conservancy programme, and wanted to find out more. He took a trip with guide Boas Hambo, who works for Conservancy Safaris Namibia, to meet Himba people in Kunene, and he spent some time in Nyae Nyae with the San.
